Pop Art is a modern art movement that emerged in the mid-1950s in Britain and the United States. It was a reaction against the dominant art movements of the time, such as Abstract Expressionism and the avant-garde movements.

Pop Art is characterized by its use of popular culture icons and mass-produced commercial imagery as its subject matter.
