Marussia is a Russian supercar manufacturer that was founded in 2007 by entrepreneur Nikolai Fomenko. The company is headquartered in Moscow and its cars are named after a combination of the founder’s name and the country’s name (Ma-Rus-Sia).

The Marussia B1 and B2

The Marussia B1 and B2 were the company’s first models. They were mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports cars that were designed to compete with the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini. The B1 had a top speed of 155 mph and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. The B2 was even faster with a top speed of 217 mph and a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.2 seconds.

The Marussia Formula One Team

In addition to producing supercars, Marussia also had a Formula One team from 2010 to 2014. The team was originally known as Virgin Racing but was renamed Marussia F1 Team in 2012. Unfortunately, financial difficulties forced the team to fold in 2014.

After the collapse of the Formula One team, Marussia went through a major restructuring and rebranding. In 2016, the company announced its new strategy with a focus on luxury and technology. The plan included the launch of a new electric supercar called the Marussia E-Vision, which was unveiled at the 2018 Moscow International Automobile Salon.
