Fantastic Beasts is a fantasy film series set in the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling. It is a prequel to the Harry Potter series and takes place in New York City during the 1920s, following the adventures of a British wizard named Newt Scamander.

Newt Scamander arrives in New York City with a suitcase filled with magical creatures. However, when some of the creatures escape, he must team up with a No-Maj (a non-magical person) named Jacob Kowalski, as well as two witches, Tina and Queenie, to retrieve them.

Along the way, they encounter a group known as the Second Salemers, who are determined to eradicate the wizarding world. The group is led by Mary Lou Barebone, who wants to expose witches and wizards to the No-Maj population.

The film series explores themes of prejudice, discrimination, and the struggle for acceptance, as well as the importance of friendship and bravery in the face of adversity. It also expands on the magical world created in the Harry Potter series, introducing new creatures, spells, and characters.

The series is directed by David Yates, who also directed the last four Harry Potter films. The cast includes Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Katherine Waterston as Tina, Alison Sudol as Queenie, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, and Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone, among others.

There are currently two films in the series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, with a third film planned. They have been widely praised for their stunning visuals, captivating storyline, and excellent performances from the cast.
