Drew Brees is a retired American football quarterback who had a successful and notable career in the National Football League (NFL) for over two decades. He was born on January 15, 1979, in Austin, Texas. He played college football at Purdue University, where he was a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist and was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year twice.

He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft. He spent five seasons with the Chargers before signing with the New Orleans Saints in 2006.
