History

The team was founded in 1988 as the Macon Braves and played in Macon, Georgia until moving to Augusta in 1993. They were then called the Augusta Pirates until 1998 when they changed their name to the Augusta GreenJackets. In 2018, the team announced that they would be relocating to a new stadium in North Augusta, which opened in April 2021.
